EVO-X1 Power state issues

  • I am experiencing some issues with the Evo X1.

    After waking from the 'sleep' state, the fan runs at full speed constantly, even under very low CPU load, and the display switches to power saving mode when the computer is actively being used.

    After waking from 'hibernate' state, the system state is restored, but randomly resets to a freshly booted state.

    A similar issue is described in the  Notebookcheck review

    Is there maybe a bios upgrade which would solve these issues?

    Thank you.

  • Hi,

    Could you please send a mail to service@gmktec.com with a copy of your post to describe this BIOS bug ?

  • I emailed service support 3 months ago and never heard back from them.

    There appears to be a firmware level issue with power state management.  Following a sleep and resume cycle i get the following kernel messages on linux:

    ```
    [52327.972173] ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Could not resolve symbol [\_SB.PCI0.SBRG.EC0.Z009], AE_NOT_FOUND (20240827/psargs-332)
    [52327.972196] ACPI Error: Aborting method \_SB.PCI0.GPP7.P0WW._OFF due to previous error (AE_NOT_FOUND) (20240827/psparse-529)
    ```

    I would really like it if there was a BIOS/UEFI update with a fix for this. Thanks.
