NUCBOX M4 i9, un-workable mouse/keyboard lag, heavy throttling.

  • Ever since I bought this unit it has been throttling, under no performance demand whatsoever. I think as a throttling concequence, I experience abnormal input lags of Keyboard and mouse.

BTW accessing the bios runs up the cpu temp to 90c degrees consistently. Under Windows 11, with minimal load the average temp of some cores is around 50c, while some cores will go up to 97, DOING NOTHING. Using HWINFO to measure, that says temp is an estimate, as calibrating info for my motherboard is unknown. Indeed Motherboard info GMKtec keeps to itself. Who cares about standards and updates....

Have tried all tips out there to contain throttling, better cooling paste, removed casing and placed the unit under a ventilator, nothing helps. I have disabled all back ground processes, I do not game and the most intense programm i run regularly on Windows11 is Chrome and Office365, apart from  Windows security.

Have tried all keyboard and mouse tips no impact whatsoever. Have trieds several wired and wireless sets no luck. Currently am using Logitech set: K470 keyboard and M340 mouse. using latest firmware and drivers, with or without Logitech software. Btw logitech set performce fine when connected to another PC and/or Laptop.

I do have an idea the lag increases the longer the machine is powerd on. Restarting results in shorter lags but during surfing and/or document processing  lag soon increases, to a degree that is un-workable.

Frustrating enough support of GMKTEC is non existent and ever since this box has been on the market no bios, firmware or drivers updates have been published. I keep on checking the current installation.iso file but current version is of March 15 2024, which is the same as earlier .iso's

Any solution will be highly appreciated, before I give up on this thing and buy from a serious builder.

Btw top of page shows forum expired, hmmm GMKTEK keeps on adding to its reliability.
